There have been questions about the future of the racing sim as Motorsport Games has concentrated on Le Mans Ultimate, but a new free rFactor 2 update adds the Formula E 2024/2025 teams. And to complete the feeling of the current season, it also updates the branding at seven relevant circuits.

rFactor 2 currently offered three Formula E cars to purchase, with the Formula E 2018, Formula E Gen 2 2019-22, and Formula E Gen 3 options available. The new liveries will be available for free if you own the latest Gen 3 cars, and adds the following team designs:
- Andretti Formula E
- Cupra Kiro
- DS Penske
- Envision Racing
- Jaguar TCS Racing
- LOLA Yamaha ABT Formula E Team
- Mahindra Racing
- Maserati MSG Racing
- NEOM McLaren Formula E Team
- Nissan Formula E Team
- TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team
There’s no news whether rFactor 2 will add the upgraded Formula E Gen3 Evo car which is being used for the 2024-2025 season with performance increases from the original Gen3, more aggressive bodywork and importantly all wheel drive. It may be that the livery updates are contractually required as the ‘official sim’ for Formula E, but if the Gen3 Evo was coming, it seems odd that it would arrive after the liveries have been released.
What you do get are branding updates to the following circuits (if you own them):
- London
- Berlin
- Hong Kong
- New York
- Rome
- Diriyah
- Electric Docks
The free rFactor2 update adds the Formula E 2024/2025 teams and circuit branding automatically whenever you next launch the sim.
