Shipping from the third week of March 2025, the robust and all-metal new Sim-Lab SQ1 Sequential Shifter is now available to pre-order with limited stock available.
One important feature is the adjustability, with three interachangeable roller profiles to let you decide whether you want a smoother and more linear gear change, or more pronounced and stiffer shifting to make sure you know when you’ve changed up or down. And you also get a blue adjustment know to let you fine-tune everything during practice or racing.

The SQ1 is designed to be rugged and durable so that it will last, with smooth ball bearings and Hall sensors to ensure precision shifting. You can also remove and replace both the shifter rod and gearshift knob so you can customise it further to your preferences. About the only thing it doesn’t do is convert into a H-pattern shifter, but it’s a dedicated unit designed for performance rather than versatility.
Supplied with mounting hardware and the required USB cable, the SQ1 is also a fairly compact unit measuring 84 millimetres long, 68 millimetres wide and 257 millimetres high, meaning it should fit well with most sim rigs.
Originally planned to launch in January, the Duch company has delayed the release of the SQ1 and used the time to respond to initial feedback from letting people try out the new shifter at various events. And the roller profiles potentially offer up the potential for haptic feedback options or possibly custom community profiles.

The Sim-Lab SQ1 Sequential Shifter is listed at £192, but you can currently pre-order it for £167 on the official website. You can check out all of our coverage of Sim-Lab products, here, along with all the latest hardware, including shifters, button boxes and more.
