The arcade racer for PC and Nintendo Switch has been available since July 2024, but it might be worth picking up right now as Hot Lap Racing gets a new track and a 40% discount during the Steam Couch Co-Op Fest until February 17th, 2025.
It’s not the only racing title to be discounted as part of the Steam sale. But it’s probably the only one to now feature the Circuit des Ecuyers, which is a fairly new real world track opened in 2007 close to Paris in France. With 17 bends packed into the full 2.175 mile or 3.5km layout, it’s technical, challenging, and mainly used for track days and testing purposes. It’s designed for that use, with plenty of run-off, and scarce barriers to it.
One interesting bit of trivia is that two shorter circuit configurations can even run at the same time. All three layouts are included in the game, but you probably won’t see other events running while you’re using a short version of the track.

The circuit has been added as part of Patch 1.1.3.
Hot Lap Racing was released in the Summer of 2024, and was developed by French developers Zero Game Studios and Vision Reelle. It’s on the arcade and simcade side of racing games, with more than 50 cars and 70 track layouts, with a career mode, online multiplayer for up to 12 racers, and local split screen for up to four people to compete in.
