Kunos Simulazioni are still working hard on getting the online side of their new racing sim up and running, but in the meantime, Assetto Corsa EVO update 0.1.3 enables car customisation in single player modes and the showroom.
The downside is that it’s entirely offline and isn’t saved anywhere, so you’ll lose any changes when you quit a game session. But at least you can start playing around with the exterior and interior options available, whether that’s paint schemes or interior trim.
Unfortunately, it’s another downside of the decision to require an internet connection for so much of the game, along with preventing player profiles being saved, or being able to access the driver academy. But at least it may prompt Kunos to look at ways of storing progress locally before the full release of Assetto Corsa EVO to minimise issues in the future when servers or players encounter connectivity problems.
And as a title in very Early Access, both the server issues and hopefully frame rate optimisation, will both be improved soon. A lot of people with mid-range PCs and older computers are finding the frame rate drops make Assetto Corsa EVO unplayable as soon as you add opponents to race.
Assetto Corsa EVO Update 0.1.3 Release Notes:

- Car customizations are currently reset when quitting the game. Full online mode for all will be enabled very soon.
A previous update also included some fixes for early issues.
Assetto Corsa EVO Update 0.1.2. Release Notes:
