Now established enough to be updating existing products from their sim racing range, the new MOZA FSR 2 Formula Wheel and CM2 HD dash have arrived to order with both now using fully customisable touchscreens.
The MOZA FSR 2 Formula Wheel is largely similar to the previous model in terms of size and build, with a 280mm diameter aluminium alloy and carbon fibre construction, and a 4.3 inch screen. But now you can use the touchscreen, along with selecting existing dashboards or building your own through the MOZA Pit House software.
Another big difference is that the FSR 2 now has a pair of extra paddles, taking the total to six. The new options are for deploying DRS and KERS (unless you want to set them for something else), joining the magnetic carbon fibre shift and dual-clutch paddles. The updated layout means the FSR 2 has 2 rotary encoders, 3 thumb encoders, 2 seven-way switches and 10 buttons, compared to the 5 rotary encoders, 2 thumb encoders and 10 buttons on the older wheel it replaces. And you still get top mounted rev lights, but now there are also 6 RGB signal lights built in.
The Moza FSR 2 Formula Wheel is compatible with all Moza wheelbases, and also 3rd party equipment via the Moza Hub. It costs £649, a bit more than the £549 price of the original.
Then there’s the Moza CM2 Racing Dash, which ups the 5 inch 800 x 480 coloured screen of the original to a 720p touchscreen with a 60 Hz refresh rate. It includes 10 RGB shift lights, 6 RGB flat lights, and the same options to custom everything on screen via the Moza Pit House software. As you’d expect, it works with all Moza wheelbases, and can be adjusted for height so you can see it clearly. But it also includes a direct USB connection, so you can use it with other sim racing setups.
The Moza CM2 HD Racing Dash will cost you £162.58, which is around the same as the previous model from memory.
Both the new MOZA FSR 2 Formula Wheel and CM2 HD Dash look to be good investments if you’re buying them as new products or upgrading from other options. They’re probably not different enough to justify investing the money if you’ve already got an FSR and CM dash.
You can order both directly from the Moza website. Moza products are also available in the UK from resellers including Overclockers. And if you’re upgrading any part of your sim rig, you can find news of the latest wheels and pedals here, along with all other hardware including gearshifters, handbrakes, button boxes and more here, plus sim rigs themselves, here.
