It’s been teased for a while, but the Sim-Lab SQ1 Sequential Shifter is about to launch according to the latest social media updates from the company.
The SQ1 features a full metal construction with four ball bearings for ultra smooth and silent shifting, which will be handy if your sim rig is in a social part of your house. Or you get fed up of noisy shifts when you’re streaming. And there are also three different roller profiles to set your preferred haptic feedback.
Previous responses on social media also suggested a release date of the first week in January, along with a retail price of €199. And despite the square base and rounded gearknob, it doesn’t convert to a H-pattern shifter.

If you’ve been involved in sim racing for a while, you’ll probably know the Sim-Lab name even if you haven’t invested in any of their profucts yet. The Dutch company begain in 2015, and built a reputation for quality cockpits and hardware, including the officially licensed Mercedes-AMG Formula One Team Sim Racing Steering Wheel which was released in 2024. Although I’ll always also associate them with their sponsorship of the Production Car Challenge on iRacing.
And if you like immersion in your sim racing, then a quality gearshifter shouldn’t be overlooked. Whether it’s classic and vintage racing, or modern racing cars which haven’t switched to paddle shifts, dropping up and down the gears is an art. As well as a way to release your frustration as you slam your car down a gear recovering from contact or a spin.
The Sim-Lab SQ1 Sequential Shifter isn’t listed on the official website yet, but should be arriving imminently.
