If you ever venture out in the real world behind the wheel of a car, you might find yourself despairing at the state of the roads, particularly in the UK. And if you’ve ever thought you could do a better job, you have the chance when Road Maintenance Simulator 2 arrives in December 2024 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Developers Caipirinha Games and publishers Aerosoft GmbH have created simulation titles for years, and have based Road Maintenance Simulator 2 in their home country of Germany. Which makes sense, as fixing the UK road network would just be overwhelming. But you’ll get to take on more than 40 tasks which could be applied anywhere, from control runs and applying road markings to pruning trees and clearing snow.
It takes place in a 3D environment which lets you work on everything from rural country roads to busy motorways, subject to both dynamic weather and seasonal changes, along with different times of day. You’ll be aided by a selection of 10 different vehicles, including a combination roller, tipper truck and road marketing machine. and you can choose between the set duty regulations mode, or taking on jobs at your leisure as you explore in free roam.
The big difference between this, and the original game in the series from 2022 (currently with a Mixed rating on Steam), is that it’s now subtitled Winter Services, adding the challenge of cold weather.
Road Maintenance Simulator 2 will be released on December 9th, 2024. And you can find it for the PC via Steam, the PS5 via the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store. And if you’re looking for simulation titles covering mechanics, selling cars and bikes, etc, then you can find them here.
