You’ll have to wait a little longer to enjoy a mix of car mechanic simulator and illegal street racing, with the Underground Garage Steam Early Access release delayed until November 7th, 2024 by developers BeardedBrothers.Games. Console versions are also still planned for the future.
Originally scheduled for October 24th, the date has been put back as the Polish studio founded by brothers Darek and Lukasz Skrzypkowski want to ensure that Underground Garage ‘starts off on the right foot’ and that they’re able to respond to community feedback from day one, although lots of improvements and features will be added during the Early Access period anyway, which they expect to last for around one year.
The good news is that you’re still able to download an Underground Garage demo to get a taste of what will be available.
And there’s a fair amount promised, including the ‘most realtistic car mechanic simulator’ with dozens of parts, engine and crash damage, car customisation, turning and racing through the urban streets as you take on procedurally generated quests and story-driven missions in an open world which currently features one city. You’re able to unlock new garages and workshop upgrades to help you tweak and tune the six cars and six engines available at the early access launch.
Plans for the future include a co-operative multiplayer mode, improvements to driving physics, and increasing the number of cars, city areas, tools and parts.
BeardedBrothers.Games previously developed and published Biker Garage, released back in 2019 for the PC and in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. They originally announced Underground Garage back in 2020.
Underground Garage will be available for the PC via Steam with console versions also planned. And you can keep up with the latest Unground Garage news, updates and more, here.
