There are a fair number of changes and improvements with American Truck Simulator Update 1.51 released, most noticeably including a new title screen and the inclusion of the Limited Edition Mack Black Anthem truck.
While the opening screen is part of an ongoing refresh to the user interface, you’ll need to purchase the Black Anthem in-game to enjoy the upgraded 70-inch StandUp sleeper model with a unique look including the black Mack grille logo and bulldog ornament, exterior trim package and more.
Another change is that you’ll see dynamic loading and unloading expanded to a lot more depots when you’re using the grain hopper trailer to transport various crops, and loading the chip van when hauling wood shavings or cotton seeds, with plans to expand this in the future. Which makes the start and end of your haulage jobs a bit more entertaining and immersive.
Existing DLC packs have been updated, with the Oklahoma DLC now getting a missing middle section of Interstate 44 thought Oklahoma City, along with two new depots, and a couple of new truck stops on I-40. The Texas DLC now gets fresh vegtation with loblolly pines native to the state. And the Oregon DLC now gets expanded Custom City Intros when you’re selecting a starting city.
If you enjoy modifying your truck (and who doesn’t?), then you’ll also be ahppy to know you can now install the FlowBelow Tractor AeroKit, with the fairings and wheel covers now available to be used on the following trucks:
- Kenworth T680
- Peterbilt 579
- Volvo VNL
- Mack Anthem
- Freightliner Cascadia
- Western Star 5700XE and 57X
Truck interior shadows have also been improved to become more natural and realistic, which will definitely improve the experience of driving at night. Plus there’s a new controller settings system which will hopefully enable you to do more without needing the keyboard, but you may find custom configurations will have been reset by the change. And you’re now also able to choose whether to have the Block Spot Sensor and Automatic Differential Lock operating or not in the Gameplay settings.
