Set for release later in 2024, Gaming Factory have shared a couple of bits of progress on their driving game set around Lake Haikama. Along with an update for the free Rise of the Scorpion prologue, JDM: Japanese Drift Master secures a Nissan license to feature iconic cars from the Japanese manufacturer.
Obviously the car roster plays a big part in any drifting title set in Japan, and Nissan joins previously announced licenses with Subaru and Mazda. There’s no word on which models will be included, althogh the iconic fifth generation Nissan Skyline GT-R V spec II from 2000 is pictured with the announcement.
Some iconic Nissan drift cars have already featured in screenshots and videos promoting JDM: Japanese Drift Master, such as the Ichiban Silvanna 15. Hopefully along with the popular examples like the Nissan 240SX, the Silvia S15 and both the 350 and 370Z, we might also see some slightly lesser-known JDM-only examples, like the Nissan Laurel, Cefiro or Stagea, for example. Cars like that would certainly make JDM: Japanese Drift Master stand out from other dedicated drift games, or the more mainstream titles which also allow for drifting.
The expected cars certainly seem fairly well covered already, with previews featuring examples including most of the typical cars you’d expect, such as the Mazda RX-8, Subaru BRZ, Toyota AE86 and the Honda Civic. And Rise of the Scorpions already includes various examples of the S13, S14, etc.
JDM: Japanese Drift Master is available to wishlist for the PC via Steam or the Epic Games Store. And keep up with all the latest JDM: Japanese Drift Master news, updates, DLC and more, here.
