Everyday car heroes are being celebrated by Playground Games, with the new Forza Horizon 5 High Performance Dailies update and series both arriving from August 12th, 2024.
Four new race routes are included in the new season, and will also be permanently available, along with a new collectible to smash with the Business Suit Tank, and the Artist Outfit featuring some paint-splattered dungarees.
Four reward cars are being featured in the series, starting with the 2022 Ford Focus ST from August 15th, with the facelift model using a 276bhp 2.3 litre turbocharged engine. From August 22nd, it’s the turn of the 2023 Toyota Camry TRD, a 3.5 litre V6 with all new suspension and aerodynamics.
September 5th will bring the 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, with its 710bhp 6.2 litre V8, which made it the most powerful SUV around when it was built. And finally, there’s the 2023 Ford Fiesta ST with the turbocharged 1.5 Ecoboost putting out 197bhp, but also offering agile handling. It’s also currently the last Ford model to carry that name, which has been used since 1976.
It’s nice to see some more typical cars being featured. As much as it’s always great to drive a supercar through any open-world driving game, most of us also enjoy seeing our own vehicles in a digital form. And there can’t be many UK car fans who haven’t experienced a Ford Fiesta or Focus in their lives, although it has to be noticed, Horizon 5 has already included the 2003, 2009 and 2017 Focus RS and the 2014 Fiesta ST (along with the 1981 XR2).
