Introduced in 2023 as a feeder series by Motorsports UK for non-professional drivers to progress into the British F4 Esports Championship, the 2024 UK FF1600 Esports Cup beings in August with a Time Attack pre-qualification on iRacing.
It’s open to all nationalities, and you don’t need Motosport UK Esports membership or an entry fee to test your skills when the pre-qualifier begins at 9am BST on August 12th, until 11:59pm BST on August 18th. The fastest 25 drivers to set a time around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit with a fixed car setup will then be invited to enter the main championship.
Both the 2023 champion Henry Moore, and runner-up Dan Amor, have both been signed by professional esSports teams since entering the FF1600 series, being picked up by GUILD and Apex Racing Academy.
The 2024 UK FF1660 Details And Race Calendar
If you’re one of the 25 qualifying drivers selected, you’ll be contacted via the iRacing forum, vetted and approved to enter the championship. Any driver under 18 will require parental consent, you can’t be a member or affiliated with a pro sim racing, esports or real world team, and you’ll need both a paid Motorsport UK Esports Membership (£24.99), and to pay a £60 entry fee for the season.
In return you get two 15 minute races per round, with 10 minutes of qualifying for Race 1, and a reverse grid for Race 2. The UK FF160 series has the same circuits and dates as the F4 Esports Championship, and features as part of the same live broadcasts by Racesport TV. Fixed setups for each round will be provided by the organisers, and the championship uses a two drop round system.
