Fairly soon after the substantial Update v1.3, we’ve now seen F1 24 Update v1.4 released to address gameplay issues including ERS being disabled, all cars starting races on the wrong tyres, and drivers in career mode getting their Pace rating reduced by too much if you didn’t get the fastest lap.
It’s a fairly small patch across all game platforms to cover four issues, including those mentioned above. The ERS issue was due to the new mechanical failures included in F1 24, simulating an ERS fault, but because the on screen display and audio didn’t communicate it very well, and you could still be told to use ERS, it ended up confusing people. As did all cars starting on slicks during wet races.
F1 24 Update v1.4 Release Notes:
- Fixed an issue in Career modes where the player’s Pace rating would be reduced by too much when they didn’t get the fastest lap
- Fixed an issue where all cars could begin the race on the wrong compound for the track conditions
- Casual Settings Filter will no longer try to set Quick Weather to Clear which could cause issues in some game modes
- Resolved an issue where the ERS system could sometimes be unexpectedly disabled
