Coming from the solo indie developer Yooper Game Studios LLC, you can try out their Super Battle Polycars demo during Steam Next Fest until June 17th, 2024.
The game takes old-school vehicle combat and adds online multiplayer battle arena matches for solo players and with friends as team-mates. You’ll be able to compete in free-for-all deathmatches, or in the Massive Online Vehicle Arena (MOVA). And in the MOVA mode, you’ll need to control team lanes, fight for XP in the jungle and destroy the enemy nexus.
Which sounds like a good way to relax and take out any sim racing stress, whilst still getting to mess around in virtual cars. Imagine Wreckfest or Demolition Derby with grenades and rockets, plus a little bit of Dota or League of Legends. Could that make it stand out from other car combat titles, including the likes of Crossout?
Built on Unreal Engine 5, you can drive, drift and even perform airborne attacks, with customisation including adding abilities to your car, items and cosmetics. And Yooper Game Studios have made it clear that any future Polycars, abilities and items will be available free with future updates, and only cosmetic items will be provided via a battle pass and store purchases.
So, if you fancy some driving and drifting combined with firing plasma at your opponents, or dropping an orbital strike on them, it might be worth checking out the Super Battle Polycars demo while it’s available, ahead of an Early Access release on June 28th, 2024, with plans for a full version approximately six months later.
Super Battle Polycars is available for the PC via Steam, along with the current free demo.
