The blue oval has joined the Kunos Simulazioni racing sim, as Assetto Corsa Competizione adds the Ford Mustang GT3 in a free update currently available for the PC version.
There’s no information on when it might be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions, but PC sim racers can enjoy the 5.4 litre V8 developed by Ford and M-Sport, along with the bespoke Short-Long Arm Suspension system, rear-mounted transaxle gearbox and unique aero package from the carbon fibre body panels.
The current Ford Mustang GT3 debuted at the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona and currently runs in both the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe and FIA World Endurance Championship via Proton Competition, and in IMSA with Multimatic Motorsports.
In addition to the GT3 version, the same Dark Horse S track-only version of the seventh generation Mustang has also spawned a GT4 car, and the Dark Horse R model made for the single-make Mustang Challenge which runs as an IMSA SportsCar support series.
It’s always great to get some unexpected free content, especially given that Kunos Simulazioni recently released the paid Nurburgring 24Hr and GT2 DLC packs, and with them working on the upcoming Assetto Corsa Evo, which is due for release in the near future.
