We previously mentioned upcoming off-road racing game from Punto Simu when it became available to wishlist at the end of 2023. And now Extreme Rally Raid launches on May 24, 2024 with the normal price of $12.49 reduced to $9.99 for the first two weeks of release.
It’s even lower if you live in Latin America, at a cost of $5.99, or $4.79 within the first 14 days.
And while it may be the first title to be entirely produced by the Argentine team of Facundo Galella and Dario Badagnani, Punto Simu has previously produced three track modes for Assetto Corsa (Concordia 1970, Paran 1970 and Mar del Plata 2013 F1), and has supplied work to other companies and teams since 2010.
Extreme Rally Raid features different length stages, which can take from a few minutes to more than an hour to complete in Extreme or Novide Raid modes, quick races or when driving a Shakedown test, with the scenarios and maps taken from real world locations, and using a roadbook just as you would in reality.
There’s dynamic time and weather, the car physics are claimed to be realistic, and you can pick from seven different car models, inspired by real cars, with up to 4 or 9 AI opponents depending on the mode you choose to race in.
It’s compatible with controllers, or wheels, with the following options configured:
- Logitech: G25, G27, G29, G920, DF GT, Momo
- Fanatec: Porsche 911
- Thrustmaster: FFB wheel, F430/T100, T150, T300 RS, T500 RS, Ferrari 458 (also the TH8A shifter and T3PA pedals).
And along with following the roadbook, you’ll also have to deal with visual and mechanical damage as you race.
A V0.5 demo version is currently still available featuring 3 of the fictional cars and some AI competition on a single stage Convoy race. Or you can find and wishlist Extreme Rally Raid for the PC via Steam, here.
