Sim racers on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will soon be able to tackle the Nordschleife in Assetto Corsa Competizione, as the ACC Nurburgring 24Hr DLC arrives for consoles on May 2, 2024.
It was released on the PC on April 1st, 2024, and added the legendary circuit featuring 25.3 kilometres and more than 70 bends to make up the Nurburgring 24 Hours layout, which includes both the GP and Nordschleife sections, along with the Nordshleife itself.
Obviously you’ve probably experienced a version of the Nurburgring in pretty much any racing sim or game you’ve played. But it’s been a long-awaited addition to Assetto Corsa Competizione, after it was added to the Intercontinental GT Championship.
It’s based on a fairly recent scan of the track, and just as in the real racing, you’re able to cut through the pit lane to skip the full circuit during practice and qualifying. It’s also an option for the AI in those sections, so it’s worth keeping an eye out as you join the start and finish straight.
Console developed is handled by Italian developers Untold Games, rather than Kunos Simulazioni, but work has taken place to improve the co-operation between the two studios. Although Assetto Corsa Competizione was originally released for the PS4 and Xbox One, development and releases have ended for those consoles, so the new DLC will only be for the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is available as a digital download for the PC via Steam, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, or the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store. And also as a physical edition from Game or Amazon.
