The next concept car to be unveiled for Gran Turismo 7 is quite a notable one. Skoda has created the next GT7 Vision Gran Turismo car, and it will be the first time the Czech brand has ever appeared in the series. So maybe we’ll see more of their cars in the future.
It’s an all-electric single-seater concept car which will be unveiled live on April 24th, 2024, which you can catch via Youtube.
So far, just one image has been released showing the car racing across the sand.
There hasn’t been a lot of information released yet about the new car, beyond the fact it’s all-wheel-drive, a single seater, and it combines elements from the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC Spider with the current Modern Solid design approach.
Previous VGT cars have been produced by Dodge, Infiniti, Jaguar, McLaren, BMW, Porsche and many more. And it’s good to see Skoda join the list, as a manufacturer established in 1925 as the company acquired truck builder Laurin & Kelment and began working with Hispano-Suiza. And they’ve produced some interesting, and cool, cars over the years, including the Skoda Felica convertible in 1963 and the original Octaia in 1959, or the 1970s rear-engined 110R Coupe.
In those days, the performance didn’t always match the looks, but that changed with the likes of the Skoda Fabia vRS and Octavia vRS. And the popular Yeti crossover SUV. My own parents have owned both an Octavia vRS and Yeti, and loved both of them over the years.
