You could probably predict a lot of the comments on news that the electric Renault Trucks E-Tech T is coming to ETS 2. But alongside the release of the new vehicle, you can also take part in a design competition to create a second paint livery, which will also be recreated on a real example. Plus there are Renault and Thrustmaster prizes for the finalists. You can enter here.
As for the E-Tech T, it features a 540kWh battery which has a range of up to 500km on a single charge, coming with a 4×2 configuration and a 12-speed Optidriver gearbox. The Gross Combination Weight is 44 tons, with a max output of 490kW.

One of the challenges for electric vehicles in the real world is building out the charging infrastructure, and apparently virtual worlds also post some challenges, so the E-Tech T and ‘other electric trucks planned for the future’ will be introduced ina special mode and accessible only through Quick Jobs while developers SCS Software make modifications to Euro Truck Simulator 2 (and presumably American Truck Simulator) to support them completely, including customisation and accessories.
Obviously, a lot of people will feel the need to complain that electric vehicles exist in games, but there’s always the option to simply not drive them.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T will be released in Euro Truck Simulator shortly after update 1.50, which has just become available as an experimental beta. Changes include a number of improvements to the rendering system, user interface, adding a lane assistant, and reworking both Switzerland and the Rhine region of Germany, as well as giving the MAN RGX truck a facelift.
