You can now play the second in the toy car racing series from Milestone and Mattel for nothing, as Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged joins Game Pass on Xbox and PC from March 2024.
It replaces the original game in the series, which launched in 2021 and leaves the subscription service to make way for the newer sequel, which was released in October 2023. And you’ll get access to a wider range of vehicles, including motorbikes and ATVs, along with Hot Wheels Originals, Monster Trucks, and lots of pop culture and entertainment-inspired creations.
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 Turbocharged also adds five brand new locations, new terrains, lateral dashes and single or double jumps. For single player fun, there’s now a story-driven campaign mode, and the livery editor has also been updated and improved.
Game Pass costs from £7.99 per month for PC, £8.99 for Consoles, or £12.99 for Ultimate, which covers Xbox consoles and PC. You can save some cash on subscriptions by collecting Microsoft reward points, or via other ways to get discount codes or free months such as the Xbox Ambassadors program.
Other racing games currently available via Game Pass include Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 4 and 5, Wreckfest, SnowRunner, You Suck At Parking, and lots of titles through EA Play, including several of the Need for Speed Franchise, GRID Legends, Dirt Rally 2.0 and DiRT 5, Burnout Paradise Rematsed, and F1 23. It’s worth noting that EA titles don’t include achievements if they’re access through Game Pass on the PC if that’s important to you.
If you’ve been playing the original Hot Wheels Unleashed via Game Pass and still need to finish off some last achievements, it’s still available for the PC via Steam, Xbox consoles via the Microsoft store, Sony consoles via the PlayStation Store, and as physical copies from Game or Amazon.
And if you like the newer version and want to own it forever, Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged is also available to buy as a digital download for the PC via Steam, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, or for the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. Or you can buy physical copies from retailers including Game and Amazon.
