Arriving on the third anniversary of the motorcycle sim launching on Steam, there are a few small tweaks and changes with TrackDayR Update 1.0.104.23 released.
Crowd noise is a nice feature for immersion, but probably the most interesting is that the tyre load will now impact erosion, along with an improved calculation for the wheel contact point, meaning that the terrain should change more realistically if you’re riding laps off-road.
There are also some handy bug fixes for Steam controller inputs and yaw oscillation when you’re in the air.
Updates have been released frequently for the motorcycle sim over recent months, with this being the third in March 2024 so far (the others were 1.0.104.06 and 1.0.104.17). And the last most recent new content drop arrived in January with an Enduro map and electric bikes. So after three years it seems that indie developers Mad Cow are speeding up their progress on the sim rather than slowing down.
That’s good to see, as a wide range of official and mod content means there’s no shortage of bikes and circuits to enjoy. And the biggest shortcomings of TrackDayR are around the look and polish, particularly for people coming from more casual motorcycle and racing games published by larger studios.
