The premier motorcycle racing series will make its annual return, with MotoGP 24 announced for release on May 2nd, 2024.
Once again developed by Milestone, the two main features to entice existing fans to upgrade, and hopefully attract some new racers to the official licensed game, are a long-awaited Riders Market, and MotoGP Stewards. But there’s also a new online competitive mode with the LiveGP Championships.

Featuring the MotoE, Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP series, the Riders Market allowing people to move between official teams or join your fictional creation, could lead to interesting possibilities. Especially when so much of the discussion about motorcycle racing in the off-season is about new hires and upcoming debuts. Having seen so much debate over the recent departure of Marc Marquez from Honda to Gresini Ducati this year, it’ll be interesting to see how it’s implemented, and whether you can potentially grab a future star from Moto3 before anyone else spots their potential.

The other new addition is that MotoGP Stewards will be monitoring both riders and AI for any rule breaking. In previous titles since MotoGP 21, you’ve been punished for exceeding track limits and other transgressions, including receiving a long lap penalty, the AI riders will now also be penalised if they’re riding irresponsibly. Which should make for more dynamic and changeable races.
MotoGP 24 will also feature a new Adaptive Difficulty system to tailor the skills of your opponents to your own abilities and results as you progress. And the AI riders have been tweaked to replicate the real riders more accurately, with inexperienced rookies more likely to take risks, and veteran champions ready to wait until the right time to push for the win.

Riding physics get a new electronic turning system for corner entry and exit, and tyre management has been revised.
For multiplayer, 2-player local split screen will be part of the Steam, Xbox and PlayStation versions, along with cross-play for both racing, and sharing your designs for helmets, stickers, race number and butt patches. But the most interesting new mode is likely to be the LiveGP Championship, which features seasons containing a certain number of events for you to compete in and feature on the overall Championship leaderboard.

“We’re delighted to unveil MotoGP24’s imminent release. As CEO, I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished in this new chapter, which for the first time in the history of the franchise will include the Riders Market, one of the longest-awaited features by our community. The whole team has invested heart and mind to craft the best possible experience for fans worldwide and my heartfelt appreciation goes out to MotoGP for being constantly at our side in this journey” – said Luisa Bixio, Milestone CEO.
“We’re excited to announce MotoGP24 with even more new features for fans,” adds Dan Rossomondo, Chief Commercial Officer of MotoGP™ commercial rights holder Dorna Sports. “What they’re looking for is what they’ll find: more updates to make the game as close as possible to the real thing, and more dynamic difficulty to ensure the pros and the new players can both maximize their experience while playing the game. Things like the riders market are great additions too, especially when you look at some of these huge team switches we’ve seen recently. I hope our fans will enjoy playing MotoGP24 as much as they love watching the sport!”.
Pre-order bonuses revealed for the PlayStation and Xbox versions include the Nolan Helmet Liveres and Test Suits DLC.
MotoGP 24 is available from May 2nd, 2024 for the PC via Steam, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store and the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. Physical copies can also be bought from retailers including Game and Amazon.
