With the huge new Season 2 update bringing the Tempest weather system among other changes, it’s not surprising that a few glitches occurred for sim racers on Tuesday night. But there’s been a quick response to the major problems with iRacing 2024 Season 2 Hotfix 1 released within around 24 hours.
Problems included many sim racers being unable to access the download or load the iRacing UI, some unfortunate drivers in Ferrari GT3 series being stuck on slicks during ranked races in week 13, and issues with trying to withdraw from events requiring you to exit iRacing and re-open it.
But some of the issues with tyres and game crashes should now have been resolved, accompanied by a few circuit visuals and updates to setups for the new Super Formula Lights, along with the Super Formula SF23, Dalara iR-01 and Dallara F3.
And on another positive note, the Week 13 combination of Street Stocks and the Snetterton 200 is one of my favourite recent discoveries.
