It’s not the most unusual pair of motorcycles to arrive for the latest in the racing franchise from Milestone, but the RIDE 5 Free Pack 05 is available to download now across all platforms (PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S). So it makes sense to add the free bikes to the list available in the game, whether or not you’re planning to try them out.
And they’re not bad bikes, either. The two additions are the 2004 Yamaha YZF-R1, and the 2009 Suzuki GSX-R600. Both popular examples of the supersport and superbike class for justifiable reasons, but joining other model years already available in the game.
The R1 did get some big changes for 2004 including an underseat dual exhaust, radial brakes and a ram-air intake, along with an all-new 998cc engine putting out 172hp, or 180hp with the ram air in effect, significantly up on the previous model. And a steering damper also made it easier to control.
There weren’t any major updates to the supersport Suzuki in 2009, with a new subframe, bodywork and fuel tank taking place the previous year. The 599cc engine produces 125bhp and 46.7 lb ft of torque, with a wet weight of 192kg. It makes for a capable track weapon as well as a good bike for the roads, with a potential top speed of 157mph compared to the 179mph figure for the R1.
