After a free demo appeared in September, and with console versions also planned for this year, RC Revolution launches for the PC on February 15th, 2024.
Coming from Phren Games, the release will include a selection of 28 tracks set in seven different location, and extensive car customisation based on six different builder platforms. So you pick from a Buggy, Truggy, Drift, Monster, Crawler or Novelty, and then choose a specific radio control car before tuning it and changing cosmetic details.
There’s online multiplayer for up to eight people, plus a track builder which lets you share your creations via the Community Hub, and potentially have them included in RC Revolution as a default track at some point.
Only competitions include leaderboards and tournaments allowing you to earn in-game currency for new cars and spare parts, while there’s also a split-screen local mode. You’ll also earn Respect Points as you play, which are used to get cosmetic items.
The most interesting aspets may be the Points of Interest mode, which challenges you to reach a set of locations within a time limit, and the fact that there are two leagues of competition, with one using pre-built cars and arcade physics, along with a professional series requiring more effort in building and tweaking your own vehicle.
“We strive to capture the essence of the classic RC racing game while infusing it with our own unique vision. Fueling our passion for RC cars, we embarked on a quest to create a game that would evoke the same sense of joy and excitement that Re-Volt once brought to our life” Ilya, RC Revolution Development Lead
