Alongside the latest entry into a long list of DLC for the motorcycle game, the latest patch for RIDE 5 updates Race Creator and adds a Riding School to help you improve your riding technique.
At launch, developers Milestone had included the ability to create your own custom races. But you haven’t been able to share them with other players online until now, with two additional tabs in the interface to Download Online Competitions, or see the Top Competitions which have been most popular so far.
The most interesting aspect of the update is the Race Creator also now allows you to create and use a logo for your competitions, and include customised suits, helmets and liveries. So you could have your own branding in the menus, and on the bikes and riders. Which is an interesting way to allow creators to promote themselves.
And you can also customise all of the rivals names and information, so in theory we could create an ORD branded competition featuring everyone from Team ORD, for example.
The other big new feature is the new Riding School, with a mode which splits every circuit into four sectors to allow you to try and achieve the set times on each part before tackling a full lap. You can earn a bronze, silver or gold medal for your time, so it’s a challenge similar to the existing Time Attack mode, but at least splitting the tracks into four means you can focus on getting each part right individually until it becomes second nature and you move onto the next one.
