There’s been the usual guessing games with three new cars teased for Gran Turismo 7 update 1.42, which should arrive on Thursday, January 25th, 2024.
As always, Polyphony Digital founder Kazunori Yamauchi shared an image of the trio in silhouette, as the development schedule returns to normal after the big Spec II Update 1.40 arrived last November. And notably, there’s no Sony Honda Afeela EV yet, so that will be coming in a future release.

The bottom row appears to be the Genesis X Gran X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo revealed at the Gran Turismo World Series Final in Barcelona. Back in December, it was announced as arriving in the game in January, and was one of the three cars awarded if you entered the Viewers Gift Campaign by watching the stream of the Manufacturers Cup.
The concept car features a V6 engine, and combined with the electic power, would put out 1071hp and 986lb-ft of torque, with a single seat for the driver, and cutaways on the rear bumper and arches to extract air and presumably add ground effect downforce
And the other example is the Bulgari Aluminium Vision GT, which was created by Polyphony Digital with input from the jewellers. It was only available originally to those who bought a Bulgari Aluminium x Gran Turismo Special Edition watch. But the 394bhp open two-seater weighing 1,000kg now appears to be available to all.
Which is good news, considering the £4,490 watches were only available for 24 hours, with just 500 produced with a black watch face, and 1200 in yellow.
The third of the trio is more of a people’s car, and it’s a fourth generation Suzuki Jimny. We’ll have to wait to find out whether it’s the version available globally with a 1.5 litre 100hp engine, or the Japanese-only Kei car version with a 0.66 litre three cylinder putting out 63hp. But either way, the little off-roader will be the more affordable choice from the new cars when you’re shopping in Brand Central.
