Unrelated to the classic series of games developed by Criterion, and coming from the same studio as Drift Reign, Hashiriya Drifter, Kanjozoku 2 and more, there’s now Burnout Chaos: Drift Car Project announced for PlayStation release on February 2nd, 2024.
It doesn’t look radically different, with the opportunity to colleect and customise cars, with drifting and elimination races mentioned alongside normal racing. There’s not a lot more detail beyond rising through the ranks to become a champion, and competing worlwide in global competition, which might refer to online multiplayer or the locations and AI drivers.
The PlayStation store listing has Burnout Chaos: Drift Car Project as a 1 player game, so no split-screen local multiplayer.

Coming from Midnight.Works, who are based in Romania and Moldova, their first big game was Hashiriya Drifter, and have since released a wide range of racing games, including Gearhead Karting, Crash Metal, Rally Race, and more.
So if you’ve played their previous titles and enjoyed them, or just fancy trying something different, you can add Burnout Chaos: Drift Car Project to your wishlist now via the PlayStation store. Presumably it will run on both PlayStation 4 and 5, although it’s not clear which platform the game may have been optimised for. And there’s no information regarding PC or Xbox versions planned for the future, or the list price.
By way of referece, Drift Reign is currently available on the PlayStation Store for £11.99 with a 1.68 star rating since being released on January 9th, 2024, and has a Mixed score at a price of £4.99 on Steam since June 2023. Hashiriya Drifter is £7.99 with a 2.76 star rating, and at £1,69 with a Mixed score on PC. So that might guide your expectations.
