As a fairly well-known and respected company producing high-end sim racing wheels, it’s pretty big news when Gomez Sim Industries preview the new Formula Pro Elite V2.
The original version of the wheel was released by GSI back in 2020, which became a popular choice for a lot of sim racers before it was eventually discontinued for newer models. So there’s probably going to be plenty of interest in the V2, which has a compact 300mm diameter design, and a light base weight of 1.42 kilos.
Obviously you can see the screen, along with the programmable LED lights. And the variety of buttons, along with custom 6.5Ncm rotary dials and encoders. Both the buttons and encoders will be tactile, so you get more feeling when you’re making changes, and there’s less need to look away from the screen or risk of not activating the right adjsutment.
The prices will start from $1250, which is slightly less than the recently announced Hyper SL currently available for pre-order, which doesn’t feature a built-in screen. And signficantly less than the Hyper P1, which starts from $1,650. But if your budget is more modest, they did launch the ‘entry-level’ GSI wheel, the X29, back in April 2023.
More details are likely to be revealed in the very near future, as GSI will be at the Sim Formula Europe event this weekend. Once the pre-sale is live, you’ll be able to find the new Gomez Sim Industries Formula Pro Elite V2 via their website. And GSI products are also available from UK retailers, including Demon Tweeks.
