Developers MadCow really have used the festive season as an opportunity to roll out changes to their motorcycle sim with TrackDayR updates 1.0.102.76 and 1.0.102.81 released to end 2023.
After a major update added Flat Track to the sim in the run-up to Christmas, the small team have released four smaller follow-ups with various fixes and improvements. Covering both the new content and a range of other issues, it’s an impressive amount of work to have pushed out while the rest of us were taking some time off.
The biggest news is probably the new realistic downshift, which means you can’t change to a lower gear with an open throttle. While most modern bikes use quickshifters to cut power momentarily, you might need to adjust your riding technique to shift down correctly, especially heading into tight turns.
There’s also new steering and balancing when you’re in the air, which is more targetted towards the off-road bikes featured in the motorcycle simulator.
