The follow-up to Circuit Superstars launched on Steam Early Access in September 2023, and Karting Superstars Patch 1.0.5 adds ducking and collisions to liven up the racing.
Ducking to draft is a feature of kart racing, as drivers can reduce their drag, especially if they’re taller than their rivals. It’s essentially human-powered DRS. And that comes to the game in a feature named Aeroduck, which is a resource you can use strategically to overtake or pull out a slight lead.
The other big change is that collisions are now enabled in online racing, meaning you can’t just ghost through people. Obviously that makes overtaking a lot tougher, especially if the driver in front is defending hard, so using Aeroduck will be an important part of making progress through the field.
Other tweaks include reduced loading times, adding some new liveries, and setting your paintscheme automatically to whatever you select in the garage before jumping into a session.
The previous update added the new Cherry Drive track, inspired by Vancouver during spring, when Cherry Blossom trees add colour to the city. And you can still try out the game for yourself before buying it, as the free demo version remains available to download from Steam.

- Reduced load times in general, and in particular when two consecutive races happen on the same track.

- Online races now have a driver showcase as you wait for players to join the race! This is a nice spot to show off your unlocked idles.
