Released by 2K in the summer of 2023, Lego 2K Drive joins PlayStation Plus in December 2023, allowing you to try the brick-based open world racer from Tuesday 5th until January 1st, 2024.
You’re able to explore the world of Bricklandia, and take part in a story mode, races and tournaments, or minigames. And it also features local splitscreen multiplayer along with the usual online options. The most recent update was in September, which added ranked online multiplayer, including a new Brick Brawl game where you score points by wrecking an opponent’s vehicle.
That month also saw the start of Drive Pass Season 2 with free or premium options available. And on the current schedule, the start of Season 3 should be arriving soon. It’s generally praised for the gameplay, minigames and vehicle builder, but there are complaints about the level of microtransactions you’ll encounter. So your mileage may very depending on your willingness to spend money or ignore that aspect.
The other titles arriving over Christmas are Power Wash Simulator, and Sable. Other racing titles available via PlayStation Plus include FIA European Truck Racing Championship, Hotshot Racing, Monster Jam Steel Titans and its sequel, Monster Truck Championship, MudRunner, MX vs ATV Legends, and Overpass. There are also time-limited trials of F1 Manager 2022, Hot Wheels Unleashed, NHRA Championship Drag Racing: Speed For All, and World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing.
LEGO 2K Drive is available for the PC via Steam, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, the Xbox One and XBox Series X|S via the Microsoft Store, and the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. You can also buy physical copies from retailers including Game and Amazon.
