Want a more realistic feel when you’re changing gears during sim racing? The new Heusinkveld MagShift sequential shifter promises just that, with a patented magnetic system letting you feel the gears click into place, and opt-electronic sensors detecting each shift.
It’s not cheap at €445.28, but the Heusinkveld brand is associated with high quality sim racing hardware, and the MagShift looks reassuringly solid with a laser-cut steel construction. And you get individual adjustments for the overall force, upshifts and downshifts, so you can set everything to be as realistic as possible, or to your own personal preferences, using the same SmartControl software as other Heusinkveld products. Which means you can create a single profile to control the settings on your shifter, handbrake and pedals at the same time.
It comes with a mounting bracket and everything you need in terms of nuts and bolts, allowing you to adjust the height between 26.2-37.7cm (along with ajdjusting the yaw and tilt), and with a narrow 6.7cm width taking up a single slot on an aluminium profile sim rig. And it’s plug and play via a USB connection.
And if that isn’t enough to justify the price, then you may have noticed three buttons on the bottom of the new Heusinkveld MagShift sequential shifter.
You can assign the three buttons to any individual function for sim racing, or use the SmartControl system to set up to 10 outputs by using button combinations. Meaning you essentiall have a handy mini button box contained within your shifter, saving space and potentially the cost of additional hardware (and using additional USB ports).
The new Heusinkveld MagShift costs €445.28 and is now available to order from the company shop. It’s designed to be compatible with PC/Windows systems only.
And if you’re in the market for gearshifts, handbrakes or button boxes, why not check out the other examples we’ve featured. With something for every budget and driving style, you can find the perfect solution for your sim rig.
