Get strategic about your virtual motorsport as F1 Manager 2023 arrives on Xbox and PC Game Pass from today, October 19th, 2023.
The second title in the series from Frontier Developments will be available across all the various subscription levels above Game Pass Core on Xbox consoles (Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate). And it’s good timing considering a number of motor racing fans may have recently subscribed for the release of Forza Motorsport.
It may also be a boost for the game and developers, following the latest release of the V1.9 update which fixes various issues, and the announcement of a pre-tax operating loss of £26.6 million for the financial year 2022-2023. The result is that “cost reductions will be achieved through a recruitment freeze, spending cuts and, unfortunately, redundancies, subject to consultation.” in a statement on the London Stock Exchange. For context, that loss is against expected revenue for the 2024 financial year of £108 million.
Frontier Developments aren’t the only game developer to have announced downsiding at the moment, and this period included both the aquisition of Complex Games, plus the closure of third-party publishing label Frontier Foundry. It also saw lower than expected sales for F1 Manager 2023, which the Game Pass access might help, especially as Froniter have stated support for the game will continue while plans for F1 Manager 2024 are developed.
If you’ve been considering subscribing to Game Pass, you can find all the details here.
F1 Manager 2023 is available digitally for the PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S via the Microsoft store. Physical editions are available from Amazon, and Game.
