Originally planned for release on October 10th, 2023 to coincide with the arrival of the Dia de Muertos festival season, we’ve now seen the Forza Horizon 5 Super Speed Car Pack launch issues due to a technical problem with the backend of the game.
It was possible to buy the DLC as planned, but many players found that the included cars weren’t available in-game. Apparently this should be resolved with the switch to the new festival season, rolling out from 2.30pm UTC on October 12th.
The Forza Horizon 5 Super Speed Car Pack
The third and latest paid DLC pack for Forza Horizon 5 costs £3.99, and includes the following cars.
- 2019 Elemental RP1
- 2020 KTM X-Bow GT2
- 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS
- 2022 Volkswagen Golf R
It’s a bit unfortunate that the technical issue impacted this particular DLC, which isn’t part of the Forza Horizon Car Pass, or the Deluxe and Premium editions. Especially as the 2015 and 2018 Porsche Cayman GTS and older Golf R models are already available in Forza Horizon 5, along with both the X-Bow R and X-Bow GT4. Which leaves the Elemental RP1 as the only genuine novelty.
The RP1 is a road-legal trackday car featuring a 2.3 litre Ford Ecoboost turbocharged engine putting out up to 370bhp in something with a dry weight of just 620kg. Which means 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds and a top speed of 175mph. The Elemental Motor Company began in 2012, building the cars in Hampshire in the UK, and debuting the RP1 in 2014.
