It’s been announced for release on PC, consoles and mobile towards the end of 2023, but you can try a new arcade racing title for nothing as RC Revolution launches on Steam with a free demo.
Taking an accessible and easy-to-play approach to racing radio controlled cars, RC Revolution is being developed by Phren Games. And while it may be an arcade racer, there’s a track constructor and fully customisable cars to add depth, along with cross platform co-operative modes.
Multiplayer does also include competitive events as well, with the option of split-screen racing alongside the online action. And there will be an ‘extensive’ variety of cars and tracks to choose from as well as building your own from scratch.
One interesting mode for the full game is ‘Points of Interest’, where you have to beat a time limit to visit five set locations. And RC Revolution will also offer two different leagues within the game, with the Amateur League using the pre-built cars with arcade physics. And the Professional League featuring cars built on one of four main bases to create your own RC racer.
There’s not been a huge amount of info announced on the features and details of the game. But Phren are apparently looking to hire a marketing specialist at the moment, so that might change in the near future. Apparently they’re a team of unnamed gaming veterans and superheroes, so it’ll definitely be interesting to see how RC Revolution progresses.
Along with the free demo, you’re also able to sign-up to playtest a closed beta in the future. RC Revolution is planned for launch of the PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android in Q4, 2023. And judging by the mention of ‘low-tech specs’ to run the game on PC, there’s a chance it might include the Xbox One and PS4 as well as the current generation of consoles.
You can download the RC Revolution demo for the PC via Steam and wishlist the game for the future release. And we’ll let you know when demos may become available on other platforms, or when other news, updates and DLC for RC Revolution are announced.
