You can tell the build up has started for the 2023 Season 4 update, as iRacing tease Circuit de Ledenon with a new screenshot.
The picture of the startline and control tower do make it clear which track is coming. Located around 16 miles northeast of Nimes in France, next to the town of Ledenon itself, the circuit was originally created by motorsport enthusiasts Jean-Claude and Sylvie Bondurand, approved for use in 1973.
With plenty of altitude changes in the 1.958 mile and 13 turn layout, it’s challenging to drive, especially as the only French circuit which runs in an anti-clockwise direction.
It hosts mainly national series, including F3, Formula Renault, GT4, and most appropriately given the recent introduction of the car onto iRacing, the Renault Clio Cup.
Circuit de Ledenon isn’t a circuit I’m particularly familiar with, but it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun to drive judging by the vartious onboard videos available to watch online. For some reason, it feels a little like a winding and narrow version of Laguna Seca, running anti-clockwise with a curved main straight leading into the Triple Gauche section which winds back on itself.
And don’t forget, all user accounts will receive free iRacing credits with $1 for every year since they were created, as long as they’re active for August 26th, 2023. It’s part of the company celebrating 15 years since the sim racing platform launched.
