Vehicle combat games can be a fun way to relieve some of the stresses from sim racing, and there’s going to be a new option to choose from with Chaos on Wheels coming to Steam Early Access in October, 2023. And if you can’t wait, there’s a demo version available to download right now.
It’s a new title from Croatian independent developers Acodeon, who dropped out of college in 2020 to start creating games. And it sounds like it might have some interesting features to stand out from some of the current titles, including split-screen, a single player Chaos Career mode, and destructible environments.
You’ll be able to choose from more than 25 vehicles, and keep a five car garage ready to drive, but as someone who has tried and struggled with the handling in a lot of car combat games, it’s the mention of drifting, and performing stunts, which sounds most intriguing. If the vehicles handle well, and it’s possible to use the terrain to get a real advantage, it could be a lot of fun.
No price has been announced, but Acodeon plan for Chaos on Wheels to be in Early Access for at least a year, with plans for the final version including player progression, leaderboards, AI support and more. And in addition to other cars, you’ll also have to watch out for turrets and other environmental hazards.
Dozens of maps could keep things interesting, with the inital version featuring a ten-chapter campaign, custom battles for two player split-screen, and two further game modes. It’s due to be available on October 19th, 2023.
You can try Chaos on Wheels now by downloading the Demo version from Steam for the PC, and you’re also able to Wishlist it for when the Early Access and Full Release dates arrive. And you can keep up with the latest Chaos on Wheels news, updates and more, here.
