There’s a small list of changes for a 3.07GB download with Art of Rally Update v1.4.4 released on the PC. The biggest improvement is for the AI, with drivers in the lower and middle brackets now racing more consistently and competitively.
Along with a bigger challenge from the AI drivers, you might also find various exploits have now been fixed and patched.
Funselektor Labs continue to roll out incremental changes on a fairly regular basis for their isometric rally game. Update V1.4.3 arrived at the end of June, but it’s been a while since the last big content drop. At the start of the month, it was announced official DirectX 12 support was being dropped, as it wasn’t helping enough people in the Art of Rally community, with SX 12 Ultimate originally being launched by Microsoft and AMD back in 2020. Which was around the same time that the game was originally released on Steam for the PC.
Having been subsequently released on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, the combination of realistic handling with a cute aesthetic makes for a racing game with more depth than you might imagine at first. Especially with the last updates making jumps and landings a bit less unpredictable and difficult to drive consistently.
