Celebrating the launch of the racing sim back in 2008, the iRacing 15th Anniversary Series begin for August, 2023, with 15 participants randomly awarded 1,000 credits for taking part in all weeks.
iRacing originally began back on August 26th, 2008. And to throwback to that era, the sim is running four weekly championships using classic cars and tracks which were available to early adopters of the platform.
These are:
- August 1-7: 15th Anniversary Solstice Challenge
- August 8-14: 15th Anniversary Legends Car Challenge
- August 15-21: 15th Anniversary Skippy Challenge
- August 22-28: 15th Anniversary Late Model Challenge
It’s slightly bittersweet, as the Solstice is no longer eligible for any existing official series, having been removed from the Production Car Challenge (along with the VW Jetta). But at least we get to enjoy the two-seater sports car in competion for another week, with the 177hp 2.0 litre Ecotec engine, manual gearbox, and rear-wheel drive.
The 15th Anniversary Solstice Challenge is live now with 12 minute races every hour and half past, and the track schedule is:
- Summit Point Raceway
- Laguna Seca
- Summit Point Raceway – Jefferson Circuit

- Lime Rock Park Grand Prix
- Virginia International Raceway – South Course
- Tsukuba Circuit – 2000 Full
For the Legends it’ll be 30 laps around:
- Lanier National Speedway – Asphalt

The Pontiac Solstice and Legend Ford ’34 Coupe are free cars with your iRacing membership, while the Skip Barber Formula 2000 and Late Model Stock will require purchasing for $11.95 each if you don’t already own them.
Each week includes a mixture of free and paid tracks, so you don’t have to make a purchase to be entered into the random prize draw for 1,000 credits. It’ll be awarded to 15 sim racers who have taken part in all four series at least once.
