We previously featured the time trial racing game coming to PC, PS4 and Switch. But in another unusual move, Classic Racers Elite launches for consoles before the Steam version is available. And that includes boxed physical copies.
Developed by Vision Reelle, publishing is handled by Funbox Media Ltd across Europe, Australia, South Africa and other countries. Other titles they’ve been involved with include Taxi Driver – The Simulation, Crash Drive 3, and Gas Guzzlers Extreme.

If you missed our previous article, Classic Racers Elite has gone for a retro look which brings back memories of GT Legends from the early 2000s, which suits driving four car categories from the 1960s. But taking a more simple and accessible approach than the classic SimBin title.
And there’s no online multiplayer, setups or tuning to worry about. Just pick a car, livery and route, and get driving, with a global leaderboard to compare times with other players. You can also choose between Free Run and Time Attack depending whether you need to practice or you’re ready to set your best time across the 17 unique locations and 50 routes (including sections, slaloms and reverse options).
The simcade physics and handling should mean it feels authentic without being too difficult to control, especially when you’ll start off in slower, easier cars to drive. And there are a total of 12 championships for you to race in as your skills grow.
You can buy Classic Racers Elite for the Nintendo Switch as a digital download via the eShop or as a physical release via Funbox or Amazon. The same is true for the PS4 via the PlayStation Store, Funbox or Amazon. And while it’s not got a release date set for the PC, you can wishlist it via Steam to find out as soon as it’s ready for sale.
