Having been pushed back from early promises of Spring 2023, we’ve now seen the Forza Motorsport release date confirmed in a new trailer. The official video states the launch date for the new Forza title will be October 10th, 2023. It will be available for the Xbox Series X|S and the PC via both Steam and the Xbox App.
The official trailer was released during the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, which happily coincided with the 100th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours. The field included two Cadillac V-Series.R hypercars, which will also appear on the cover of the new Forza title, alongside the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray.
And the video ran during ad breaks during the race, along with plenty of Xbox branding around the Circuit de la Sarthe.
The trailer also showed some of the tuning options available, which will be part of the new single-player campaign, named the Builders Cup Career Mode. Upgrade shop options include the engine, tyres, and aero, as with previous games in the series, and the overall scores for Speed, Braking, Handling and Acceleration are displayed along with the car class and Performance Index score. There will be more than 800 performance upgrades available, and a Car Level is also shown, which may be an upgrade limit or a loyalty score.
The online multiplayer side of Forza Motorsport will apparently follow a ‘race weekend inspired structure’, which probably means practice and qualifying before the main event. And it will also include AI-powered Forza Race regulations, tyre and fuel strategies, and new driver and safety ratings.
Five new tracks will be coming to the Forza Motorsport series when the new game was released, and along with the photo above from Suzuka, the trailershows footage from the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, and the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and a fictional Eaglerock Speedway. Both video and accompanying screenshots reveal cars including the Porsche Mission R, Ferrari 488 Challenge, Porsche 911 GT3 (992), Bentley Speed 8 and Continental GT3, a Buick Regal GNX, Mitsubish Starion ESI-R, and lots more.
More details on the career mode will be revealed in a Forza Monthly livestream on Tuesday, June 13th, so hopefully we’ll see how it’s structured.
