There’s a Miniversary coming for Mini Motorways and Mini Metro, celebrating 10 years since the release of the first game developed by Dinosaur Polo Club.
Originally created by brothers Peter and Robert Curry during a Game Jam, the New Zealand developers first released Mini Metro as a strategy simulation requiring you to design and manage a subway system for a growing city, and then followed it up with Mini Motorways, switching to creating a working road map.
Which certainly offers a different challenge to racing games and sims. And to celebrate a decade of game development, there’s a free Miniversary Update coming to both titles on July 24th, 2023. It includes three maps being added to Mini Motorways, crossing other from the older game, with New York City, London and Mumbai, plus the addition of a train system.
Meanwhile Mini Metro gets Tokyo, Warsaw and Lisbon added to the available locations, with many of the celebration features coming as the result of voting by the communities playing each game.
“It’s a special milestone to celebrate with our players and bring so many exciting crossover maps and features into both games for everyone to enjoy. I think players will really like the addition of trains into Mini Motorways too, it’s been a long time coming, and this has felt like the perfect time to introduce such a highly requested new feature to this game” said Ben Emerson, Marketing Coordinator at Dinosaur Polo Club.
Mini Metro is available for Apple Arcade, App Store, Google Play Store, Windows PC and macOS via Steam, Nintendo Switch,, and Mini Motorways can be found for Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch, as well as Windows PC and macOS via Steam
