With a short video and changes to their profiles across all social media, the F1 reveal teaser suggests a new story mode for the licensed series developed by Codemasters.
The EA Sports F1 accounts are all promoting a team reveal for the fictional Konnersport Butler Global Racing Team, which will take place at 4pm BST on the EA Sports F1 Youtube channel. And the name suggests links to Devon Butler, the antagonist in the story modes for F1 2019 and F1 2021.
It’s a neat way to start promoting the next title in the series, with a very short video clip revealing that Konnersport is a fictional racing team that will feature in EA Sports F1 23. With little else beyond the bright yellow colour scheme shown so far, it’s very reminiscent of the real world F1 teams revealing their new cars and drivers each season.
F1 22 was released on July 1st, 2022, and featured F1 Life, which allowed you to drive supercars and buy coffee tables for your living room. So it’s safe to assume F1 23 will be available around the same time of year, especially if the pre-release marketing is starting to build. Some racers may already be experiencing elements of the new game as a Closed Beta was open for applications until April 21st, 2023.
The fictional Devon Butler, arrived in F1 2019, being introduced in career mode as you tried to make your way up through the Formula 2 ranks into F1. He returned for the Braking Point story mode in F1 2021 alongside various other fictional characters as you could race three seasons with one of five selectable teams.
F1 23 will be available for the PC via Steam, the PlayStation store for Sony consoles, and the Microsoft store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
