As suspected, we’ve seen more than just three new cars added by Polyphony Digital with the Gran Turismo 7 25th Anniversary update released now to download.
Marking a quarter of a century since the series began on the original PlayStation, there are various reasons to celebrate as a racer. Including the new Car Valuation Service, which allows you to sell one example of a particular car each day, taking into account mileage, the state of tune, and market trends to give you a list price.
You’ll need to have finished the final GT Cafe Menu Book 39 to find the new selling option in the Used Car Dealer.
Also arriving in Gran Turismo 7 is a popular American race circuit, with Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta being added. The home of the annual Petit Le Mans event, the 2.54 mile circuit near Braselton in Georgia is a popular venue for racing across a range of sims and games, as well as real world motorsport. And it comes with a new Circuit Experience using the Volkswagen Beetle Gr.3.
The three new cars have also arrived, with the first appearance in the Gran Turismo series for the legendary Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500. With a lower spoiler added to the instantly recognisable ‘whale tail’ rear spoiler, the 224hp homologation special featured a range of upgrades for racing. And went on to win British, Australian, Japanese and German touring car series, along with the Bathhurst 1000 and Spa 24 Hours.
A car that’s featured in every Gran Turismo title aside from GT Sport is the Nissan Silvia (S14) K’s Aero from 1996, which is also added alongside the 2018 BMW M2 Competition. And there’s also a uniquely-named new livery for an existing car, with the Red Bull X2019 25th Anniversary. Unlike the other three cars, you can win the X2019 by just clicking on the 25th Anniversary event badge at the top of the home screen.
More general celebrations of the Gran Turismo 25th Anniversary, and the Grand Turismo World Series 2022 World Finals, include the themed title screen and world map, a 25th Anniversary World Finals Monaco Demo Event, a ‘Viewers Gift’ campaign with prizes including early access to the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo, and increased rewards for World Finals races via the Sport pavillion.
