If you were racing yesterday, you may have noticed an unusual change partway through the day, as an odd teleport glitch forced a Gran Turismo 7 daily race change.
The Race B event on November 15th, 2022 was originally taking place at the Autodromo Lago Maggiore West layout. But some drivers had discovered that by parking stationary off the race line in the final sector caused them to be teleported onto the front straight, allowing them to set impossible lap times without disrupting the space-time continuum.
Obviously Polyphony Digital weren’t able to patch the issue within a day, so to avoid reality folding in on itself, and the daily race being dominated by anyone exploiting the glitch, the venue was switched to Red Bull Ring short track.
It was notable enough for a statement on the official Gran Turismo website. There’s currently no information on a fix or patch, but it’s no doubt been logged for future updates. And given that things like this will happen every so often in any sim racing title or game, fair play to Polyphony Digital for reacting fairly quickly.
In happier Gran Turismo 7 news, you can now collect your reward if you correctly predicted the winners of the Gran Turismo World Series 2022 Round 3 winners, giving you 500,000 credits for the Manufacturers Cup won by Toyota / Ryota Kokubun (Akagi_1942mi) ), and a further 500,000 for the Nations Cup won by Chile / Jose Serrano (TDG_JOSETE). If you chose right, you can collect the winnings until December 14th, 2022 in the Garage under Gifts.
