With a launch date of June 28th, 2022, there’s a new MX vs ATV Legends Like A Legend trailer to check out and possibly tempt you into a pre-order. The seventh title in the series is coming to PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S, and is once again coming from Rainbow Studios and publisher THQ Nordic.
It’s been four years since MX vs ATV All Out, and the new title includes massive open world environments, and ‘unprecedented’ player choices including sponsorship opportunities and special invitational events, along with enhanced phiscs for riders, vehicles and air controls.
There’s a new Trail mode for outdoor racing, and multiplayer includes both local two-player splitscreen, and an online 16-player mode with squad-based gameplay. Which sounds potentially fun.
The game has a fairly good visual look, and the trailer shows some of the customisation options available, although the handling of the MX bike at the start of the clip looks more arcade-style than realistic. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as the most fun I’ve had with the MX vs ATV series (and even the original Ricky Carmichael MX titles) has generally been casual local multiplayer exploration and tricks, rather than ultra precise online competition.
Either way, there’s not long until we find out exactly what the new MX vs ATV Legends game offers. And in the meantime, there’s the Collectors Edition to consider, which includes a figurine of a 2021 Yamaha YZF450F bike and ramp, a metal sprocket keychain, five postcard prints, and special bonus DLC.
You can keep up with the latest MX vs ATV Legends news, updates, DLC and more, here. And if you’re looking to buy the game, you can find it for the PC on Steam, the PS4 and PS5 via the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S on the Microsoft Store.
