If you own a PS4 or PS5, then you can get DIRT 5 free on PlayStation Plus in January 2022, with the appropriate version for each console. It’s being offered alongside Persona 5 Strikers and Deep Rock Classic, and is well worth downloading for any fan of racing games. Especially if you haven’t tried it in the past.
The Codemasters release joins the games available to PlayStation Plus members from January 4th, and it’s always worth picking titles up before they might be removed.
DiRT 5 was released on November 5th, 2020, and has received several updates since then. The most recent new content was the Halloween content available in October 2021. It’s already been added to EA Play and Xbox Games Pass, if you’re already a member of those service, but it’s always good to see racing games and sims being offered for a wider audience to try and experience.
And it’s a big title to start off 2022 for PlayStation Plus owners, as well as coinciding with the extreme off-road action of the Dakar rally taking place at the moment. While it’s more of an arcade racing title than a pure simulation, you get to compete in a wide range of cars and trucks at venues throughout the world, featuring dynamic seasons and weather. Plus cross-platform matchmaking was introduced last year, so you can compete against PC, Xbox and Google Stadia racers via your PS4 or PS5.
You can buy DIRT 5 digitally on Steam for the PC, the Microsoft Store for the Xbox One, or the PlayStation Store for the PS4 and PS5. Or purchase physical copies via Game or Amazon.
