There’s nothing wrong with a desk-mounted wheel, but if you’re looking to move up to a more stable and independent platform, then the Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 might be of interest.
The new design is available now, and is based on more than 10 years of customer feedback for the previous model. So the next version gets more strength thanks to robotic laser cutting and welding on the carbon steel, and more adjustability for the wheel, pedals and any shifter or handbrake.
As with the original, you’re able to turn the Wheel Stand 2.0 into a full cockpit when your budget and space allows, by adding a Next Level Racing GT Seat. But in the meantime, the new game chair cradle allows you to use a chair mounted on castors, without launching yourself backwards everytime you push on the brake or accelerator. Which suddenly opens up a whole range of office and gaming chairs for use in sim racing, without having to come up with a DIY method to keep them from rolling away.
It measures 92.5cm long, by 57.5 cm wide and 78.5 cm high, but it’s also able to be folded away with a quick release and locking mechanism. Which means it’s a great solution if you can’t have a permanent rig set up in your home.
“2021 has been an exciting year for us so far, and we are excited to take the Wheel Stand 1.0, which was a category leader when it came to the market, and take that to a new level using the many years of feedback from the community and our customers. The Wheel Stand 2.0 introduces a new level of quality, stability, adjustability, and functionality. Next Level Racing is excited to have worked hard to give our customers all the extras and benefits at the same price as the original wheel stand. The Wheel Stand 2.0 is designed to fit straight into the NLR ecosystem, allowing our customers to start at the wheel stand 2.0 and completely upgrade to a complete motion simulator experience. It’s important for us to provide an upgrade path for our community and users.” – Hess Ghah, CEO of Next Level Racing
The Next Level Racing Wheel Stand 2.0 comes pre-drilled to mount wheels from all the major manufacturers including Logitech, Thrustmaster, Fanatec and more. And it’s fairly affordable at £179 ($249 in the U.S or 229 Euros).
