Typically Milestone have released free motorcycles in Bonus DLC packs and saved updates for fixes and improvements. But a new RIDE 4 patch adds the BMW M 1000 RR for free, along with some maintenance and additional support for add-ons.
It’s a nice surprise, as the BMW M 1000 RR is an impressive piece of track-focused sports bike kit. It’s the first M model on two wheels, with the water and oil-cooled four cylinder four stroke putting out 212hp (156 kW), for a 195mph top speed using race gear ratios, and 3.1 seconds 0-100 km/h time.
You also get downforce of 16.3kg from the carbon M winglets, a wheelbase and steering geometry optimised for race circuits, and a specially-developed brake piston. Plus a high screen for aerodynamics, a pit lane speed limiter, and electronic aids for traction control, and gearshifts. And yet being a BMW, it still comes with heated grips, cruise control and hill start assistance for road riding, along with seven riding modes.
It’s effectively a £30,395 road legal World Superbike, with an optional M Competition package available for an extra £4100. And it’s surprising to see it slip out in a patch update, as the 2021 BMW M 1000 RR is a new model for this year.
